Dear Friends of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra,

Welcome to the 36th season the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony! This is truly a special time for your Symphony and our community. Under the artistic leadership of Maestro Scott, the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony will provide the community with excitement, diversity, and enjoyment as we offer performances that appeal to a wide range of musical tastes and to all ages.

The Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony is growing along with the community. As we extend our repertoire, we are extending our audience outreach to include all of Montgomery, Bucks, Chester and Delaware Counties and the City of Philadelphia. This season we offer a wider array of musical masterworks including works by Copland and Shostakovich, contemporary music world renowned Philadelphia composer Jennifer Higdon, and the expansive Verdi Requiem, which includes three guest choruses and four nationally noted soloists.

As we look forward to performing in our new home in the Lansdale Performing Arts Center in 2009-2010 Season, we realize that the Symphony cannot exist without the generous support of our community, the volunteers, and staff who enable the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony to provide great music to our community. On behalf of the members of the Southeastern Pennsylvania Symphony Orchestra, staff, and the Board of Directors, I extend my sincere appreciation to all who continue to invest in the North Penn’s premiere professional orchestra.

I invite you to join us in experiencing the passion and excitement in our biggest season ever!
